Feisty pawns get rooked

The funny thing about changing from Democrat to Republican is that changing back seems so easy in that respect but going back again to being a Republican, can make you wonder if there is something wrong with their philosophy.

Take for example Charlie Crist. Unforgiven for his antics with Obama,  he was forced out of the Republican Party and into an Independent Party. He then joined the Democrats. That was nice of them I think but could he join the Republican party once more in the future?

No.

And that is what is wrong with being of a certain stripe. The left and the right side of too much or too little government should have little if anything to do with the person. Oh sure it's important to HAVE these two structures there so that gangs of Nazis or Black Panthers don't legitimately have candidates randomly having a CHANCE at being governor. So though independent parties should be allowed, I believe these two parties should be where the REAL candidates end up simply as a vetting process.

But all this LOYALTY to your party... it's nonsense. I remember saying something bad about Colin Powell when he voted for Obama just cuz he was black I thought and being disloyal to his Republicans.

I was wrong.

There shouldn't be loyalty to a party. It's like playing billiards. Once you lose a game you go on the loser's bracket and once you lose TWO games you are out. But being in the loser's bracket doesn't mean you should be LOYAL to that bracket. If you end up there you end up there but all this LOYALTY crap just makes it easier for people to bow out of the tournament for reasons OTHER than they lost their TWO games or elections of popularity.

Now Crist is in the Loser's Bracket, er uh I mean the Democratic Party in Florida. You can go ahead and call it the loser's bracket because most of Floridians are Republican, but I promise you it is changing. And I betcha Rick Scott has a tough election coming up.

Hopefully, instead of dealing with WINNER'S BRACKETITIS from his party, that might get him disqualified, he will focus on his skill and his experience and rest easy knowing that he has played some great games to get to the end undefeated, whereas the other guy... is in the loser's bracket... could still WIN... but is at a disadvantage that really only exists in the air somewhere.

The advantage is not real but IS PERCEIVED real by everyone that knows.

Now let's imagine being a lefty or a righty. If you swing from the left side of politics, you tend to prefer MORE government. People like you live in urban areas and you want more police and regulation and that costs money. Money for the government comes from raising taxes. People that elect Democrats tend to be nicer but also have less faith in their fellow man, probably some of the reason more police are needed and less priests are expected.

Righties, want less government. These people have an UNBELIEVABLE amount of faith in their fellow man. Now if they live in a rural or less-populous area, there is less crime. And if there is less crime then we don't need more police or regulation. With less police and regulation we don't have to pay as much to the government so raising taxes is a BIG nono for them. Small wonder that most Republicans(righties) just love love love proclaiming that they adore Jesus.

They proclaim to be for freedom from regulation and they profess to being superior for having FAITH in their fellow man... while not being willing to hire more police.

It's a ruinous affair to watch people FROM THE CITY, proclaiming to have FAITH in their fellow man. More people means more criminals and that just means we need more police and regulation. It's not hard. And you could forgive religious types from the farms of Arkansas or Nebraska where 2 people per acre is the norm and perhaps not a lot of civic education was passed down to them while HUGE corporations and farms supplied them with what they needed to know to STAY POOR.

But to hear a RICH person, who is a REPUBLICAN, who is from a non-populous area like say WISCONSIN(Paul Ryan), talk about how we need to have less government and regulation as a country... well to me it just makes me wanna go out and start a REAL CHURCH.

The CHURCH of WHAT IS OBVIOUSLY TRUE IN GOVERNMENT.

A final word about loyalty. Let's set up our chessboard again. Remember that ONE man can make a difference, ya? Well, imagine you are a pawn on that chessboard. You move forward pulling for your team, black or white who cares but if you get far enough you get to have REGAL power. But you won't get far before you have to decide whether to kill to the left or to the right. Right? I mean these decisions that you make publicly or in politics MAKE you ACT as a supporter of the left or of the right. And after you make enough attacks say to the left... you actually END UP on the extreme left side of the board ya? You can only attack one direction now and getting you off the board is ONE ROOK away from happening.

So in this obviously contrived paradigm I am depicting for you, you should choose to stay in the middle. You should attack as little as possible. The LESS kills you make, the less likely you get stuck on one of the sides where the ROOKS rule and the MORE likely you are to becoming a Queen.

What? You don't wanna get ROOKED do you?   Don't you wanna be a Queen?

PS. I don't like how the Republicans are viewed now.  In the back of my mind I KNOW that more government ends up just where Ayn Rand said it would, with corrupt people in positions we can't remove them from as it happened with the communist party in Russia.  I like SECupp and Ann for that reason but I just KNOW that the people in charge want to keep Republicans weak so as to keep public opinion open to enjoying more government which is just going to eventually become corrupt which means it does what corporations want with poor people's water, with poor people's farms and air for fracking, with poor people's time for voting, with poor people's rights to medical care.  Naziism works if the superior race is all of our country.  HEAR ME?  Naziism works if we are SUPERIOR to other countries.  But if we start to find fault with ourselves, we might as well just chain up all the poor people, because that is where that NAZI mindset ends up once we turn on ourselves and call some of US ... superior.

And I hate to belabor the point but all we need are EFFECTIVE leaders, we don't need more of one party or the other.
