Yesterday's Enterprise

In the TNG episode, Yesterday's Enterprise, we see alternate realities.  It starts out as a rip in cosmic reality and an earlier model of the Enterprise shows up and Picard changes from being a benevolent leader to a military one.

It's quite the wake up call because you think oh that's nice if only we would have done things differently things would be worse off.

Yes, if only things had gone the right way but there IS no right way.  Guinan is the only one that can tell that the reality is wrong but it seems to me that Q and Guinan are like God and the devil.  God wants order and wants to "halt" your freedom and the devil wants you to be free to go wherever you want but far from danger.  I have told you this before that every society has these streams of thought(and maybe these people in charge) where some want more control, some want more freedom.

The funny part of all of this is that at the end to fix this rip in space, the old Enterprise must go back.  It's quite the tale and it's rather hard to understand isn't it?  What is the lesson?  What should we do to stop this from happening in our lives?

How do we fix the rip in the space-time continuum?

Often, we are faced with fools.  If you are young and strong you know that it's time to fight when someone lies about you.  You may or you may not though.  If you think you are especially strong or you think you are especially popular or wise you may think... "I will absorb that lie" or "I will take the HIGH road".

You can't.

Lies are the great equalizer.  No matter who it is, if one of you is lying , you MUST let everyone know it is NOT you.  Trust me on this.  After absorbing one lie, people (not really people) will SEE your weakness and seek to lie again about you, this time because "it's only natural".

This was in the movie History of Violence where the bully pushes him and he "absorbs" it but then the bully's friend seeks to dominate him also, now that he has SEEN him back down.  It IS only natural, but it's also not very civilized.

Now the TNG episode shows how this ends, the entire universe is at war with each other as the Klingons fight the Romulans(prob done with the Romulans) but also the Federation and we find out the Federation is about to lose the war... (and as it happens a special kind of porn where Guinan has to do it with a Klingon is not far from my thoughts "this is NOT how it's supposed to be...") so the only solution was like in the movie NEXT where we go back in time.

We have to fight the good fight, right away, every time.  When people lie about you, a split in reality happens, one where you win and one where you don't win but think the world is better off that you didn't win.  I can tell you that this is the messed up reality, because people will still defend you but the stronger or the greater amount of people... hint... they're over there... they're not with you.

And as you wonder how you became this WEAK Picard that is military but that is losing the war against Klingons you must remember that always every time you must stay the course and KEEP yourself close to the strongest reality.  Even if you lose,  the Federation must survive and that only happens if you have FAITH in the system.

The Klingon empire is not so bad though and sex is still ok if you do it doggie style... that depends on... you know... if ur the guy... well... I mean... the guy bent over...

This is what happened to me.  I should have reported that cop that included lies in his police report and sued the restaurant that calls cops on their customers and I should have had this victory under my belt when I took my dad to the hospital and wondered publicly at whether he would be treated well or not well... and I might have lost those battles and I might be in jail or afraid of cops or publicly shamed for drinking and driving at a drive-thru... but that hospital would have known to treat my dad well or else I would sue... instead... they knew I wouldn't.  

PS. I am also a military leader, bogged down and roughed up maybe like a diamond in the rough... and I am also, maybe... losing the war
