Growing old

BLM:90 WHM:90 SMN:90 THF:90 WAR:90 DRK:90 RNG:90 PLD:90

What a crock of rice.

Yeah you know what I am talking about.  Old baldy thought he had a shot with Rachel and he got thumped.  What me worry that a bald man Republican is gonna opportune himself into the pants of the most democratic female on the planet.  What could possibly go wrong?

Ok well I was just thinking maybe I should move to Japan.  Cuz they know what honor is.  Get ON HER and STAY on her.  Oh wait that's a  Republican talking.

If you watch the episodes of Menagerie from the original STAR TREK, and by the way those have been redone to be visually appealing to today's sci-fi fans, it shows Spock committing mutiny.  More than that it shows them go off to the planet Talos where the beings there, because there are no longer "farmable" goods on the surface, have retreated to the underground where what they do is capture people and form illusions and thereby entertain themselves while what they do is abstain from all forms of actual pleasure and ingest a liquid protein for sustenance all the while deriving pleasure from their captives' experiences.   They are telepaths but fact is they are nothing simply more evolved and controlled much like we would be if we would just use what we had for output instead of pleasure.

A girl lands on their planet and because they don't know what a regular people act like, they heal her as best they can and try to get someone for her that is similar in some way to the people she comes from.  So they capture Captain Pike and proceed to fill him with illusions of all sorts and he almost buys into it.   He almost goes along with the hunchback-damaged goods-underground girlfriend they set him up with.

Later they capture some more regular people because "you can't have just one" mentality starts to creep in.  In the end the entire affair is ended only after Spock admits to having brought Pike back to the planet he escaped to live out his illusion with the original girl he met the first time.

Pike had recently been in a terrible accident where all he could do is blip once or twice for yes or no and this while trying to rescue people that needed rescuing but which left him as an invalid.  It's a nice ending when he goes back to the "planet of illusions" to live out the rest of his life as a normal man with a normal girl.

I'm wondering who this Captain Pike reminds me of in the movie...

Periodically speaking

BLM:90 WHM:90 SMN:90 THF:90 WAR:90 DRK:90 RNG:90 PLD:90

I have been trying to write shorter blogs due to doing other stuff.  Think about the moon for a moment.  How you get a full moon once a month.  But not exactly.  When the moon is closest to the sun it is impossible to see a reflection from it, right?  That's a new moon, one that is black.

Now imagine that the gravity from both are affecting the earth.  That's a lot more gravity than say, without the moon there.  So tides can be set based on the moon being there.

But wait what else happens once a month?

Periods.  Women get their periods once a month or MOONth.  So imagine that you are standing on the earth when the moon is closest to the sun.  More gravity right? So as opposed to other times this is when women would "hold" their blood more.

On the other hand, during the full moon... less gravity. In fact, LEAST gravity.  So this is when women shed their blood because less gravity equals more chaos, more freedom, more wolves.

It's not hard to figure out what smell could be out there during a full moon.

Disaster aid

BLM:90 WHM:90 SMN:90 THF:90 WAR:90 DRK:90 RNG:90 PLD:90

I will say something short about contributing to disaster assistance.  Charity is made to be easy to use, but hard to follow.  Remember not so long ago the trouble there was with the United Way.  It was basically the only place to give money so that various different agencies could be helped.  But the problem was that THEY decide how much of all the money goes to the various groups.  Moreover, the opportunity for over-spending was rife.  So much so that the chairman was ousted after a scandal which I don't remember what it was.

So give to the Red Cross.  Don't give to new organizations or to your news channel or even to your church.  CHOOSE the place you want to help and then help directly.

People are on the television asking the people just send money... not cans, not emergency kits, not bottled water or even giftcards... send "money" to THESE PEOPLE.

Well, as I often say, I will leave it to you to decide what is best.

Tom Cruise or Mel Gibson

BLM:90 WHM:90 SMN:90 THF:90 WAR:90 DRK:90 RNG:90 PLD:90

So Tom Cruise is this wise person that likes to take "good care" of his women.  Maybe too much care.  This makes him a Democrat "type".  More government makes for a better existence albeit through less risk-taking and enjoyment.

Mel Gibson is someone that takes "less care" of his women.  Maybe even turning a blind eye to their "many" affiliations.  This makes him more Republican.  Less government makes for a freeer ( is that a word? ) mind that is free to choose to do what it wants mostly by trusting that your fellow woman like your fellow man, is trustworthy.

So people think that poor Katie Holmes likely was locked up in a box so tight she could not escape and so this means that it must be OK to put the whole thing on Family Guy.

Enter the policeman.

Yep.  That should be enough food for thought to last you a while. Let me not even get started on whether Reese Witherspoon would have been better of with Tom or Mel.

EDIT: Just for the record, I think these are all GREAT people each worthy of admiration and though I believe Reese would not have gotten a DUI with Tom there and that she would have probably yelled at the policeman right alongside Mel, I believe they all did and do, GOOD THINGS!
