I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of my Dynamis buddies for helping me achieve a win against the Dynamis Lord. He was tough I thought but he went down easy when I took this pic. We used the old Chainspell + Stun technique and let us BLMs blow him down to nothing.

That was last time.

This time, last night, we got our placeholders handed to us. It was a complete disaster. Not only did we not land anything worth noting(cuz all of MY spells got resisted), we took so long that Ying and Yang came back to life and proceeded to chomp us down like so much dogfood.

The night started with a real screw-up. These guys always start Dynamis by going to an inner camp and then bringing the monsters to us. Well this time one guy ran out to the monsters and then ran them back to camp when we weren't ready. No problem right? Just Sleepga II and proceed as normal, right? Wrong. The eyes resisted the sleep and were not doin a tally ho to the mages, they were doing tally ho to the mage or two that was ready. I landed my Sleepga II with Elem Seal and for some reason unbeknownst to me, one of the demon mobs just up and clobbers me down. There is no reason for that to have happened tho. The mobs are supposed to have vokes thrown on them to keep the sleepers alive. If anyone were to attack a monster, all melee are supposed to use an assist macro and target the same one. This mob had already had a voke thrown on it by the alliance's main tank so there is no chance that he could just up and come and clobber me unless someone acted out of turn.

Anyway, it was a real mess. We completely wiped and that hasn't ever happened before since I have been there. Part of me thinks it is just too unlikely to have been a coincidence. Lately the ls has a prob with some of the members participating in other runs where perhaps they get to have more of the currency or whatnot. Very selfish, but also the next logical step I guess for people that want to upgrade their relic weapons. Problem is you can't come to our dynamis and go to someone else's because there is too much temptation there to undermine the dynamis you don't give a crap about. The whole point of going with a group is that you want to add your part but if you go with two groups, you are likely to treat one better.

It's like having two girlfriends maybe.

Well our leaders have said that we aren't going to allow them to continue to come to ours if they go to theirs and that means a lot of lost points for many members. This is quite a concern for people that have earned their points as you can imagine and you'd have to be crazy not to think that they wouldn't take a piece back after losing said points.

Anyway, who knows what they are thinking. Part of the reason that I stay with them is that they are all about not insulting others and treating people with respect. But unfortunately this means ppl that disrespect the ls, intentionally or not, get the boot.

Well the good news is that I don't have to go out with that girl tonight. Yeah I have been calling her and she has been delaying seeing me and honestly I gotta say that I am kind of getting fed up with her. She says tomorrow definitely we will go out but I would rather not even try to go out tmw. She had yesterday off all day and told me to call her at 4pm and then told me she had more errands to run and she would call me back. She called me back at 9pm and asked if I still wanted to go out. I'm glad I slept for like 3 of those hours but no I didn't want to go out at that point. I asked her if today was ok, she sed yes and just now she called to say tmw would be better. Hmmf.

I am honestly gonna have to start to learn how to bullsh*t.

Last night, little Hohito stood up to this ass who took it upon himself to tank our bottles at the table. "Tanking" bottles involves taking your bottle of beer and hitting it just so with the top of the other person's beer bottle. The carbonation gets so slightly mass-jolted that usually a third of the beer is wasted.

This guy did it so ridiculously foul that he broke off a chip of the bottle with his recklessness. So I decided to go ask him about it and he tells me he is not gonna answer. Well just as I am about to pull away he puts his arm on my neck and pushes me away at which point I put my hand on his neck. Then we get pulled off of each other.

Well, I expect a nice new set of key marks on my car because of it. Oh well. More importantly I went and played poker with the "guys" and made a killing. The downside of that though was that I drank everyone's beer so I had to sleep on the recliner. I have to make a note to buy them some beer next time.

That's not a bad recliner.

It's also not so bad to sleep in a house full of your friends. Even some of my friends from another bar were there so it was good. A while back I had an opportunity to "fix" this one guy's problem when he sat right behind a girl that I knew and made her get up off the chair. Since she was a troublemaker, I didn't defend her point of view very avidly but then my sister got involved and he yelled at her and I had to decide whether it was time to punt this guy.

I didn't do anything about it.

In retrospect, I later fell in love with the troublemaker but she never really respected me again after that incident. I realize now that these little opportunities that show up are checkpoints on the path to greatness. Will you risk your health? Have they got your number? Are you a frumpy wumpy hohito lumpy?

As it turns out I have scratch marks and some blood on my shirt. I guess even though I didn't get taken to the hospital, the incident had indeed enough drama to alarm everyone.

It doesn't help things that I am rather well known in the bar community. I have many acquaintances in that community and go to many different places to keep up with the people and places I have met over the years. This little "incident" with my name on it will probably get a lot of "play".

I just hope the key marks don't turn into scratch marks. I hope the scratch marks don't turn to claws marks, etc. I hope people can remember to not get so offended by actions that were in fact provoked.

There is one episode of I forgot the name but it used to come right before "That 70s Show" a while back. The mother is like seriously smart but a hardass and the father is like a klutz or something but the whole thing centers around this brain of a child. I forgot the name! Well in one episode, finally after the older brother has tormented him enough, the brain child punches him in the nose and makes him bleed, to which the older child goes and goes to the mother and tries to "tell" on the brain.

Well it stuck in my mind cuz even though the brain child was in trouble she didn't punish him. She had been watching all along so to answer the older brother's question of rights she says, "Oh you know you were beggin for it".

So that's my take on violence now. If you're begging for it, THEN!

All that was in my mind later however was how I was not going to take Door-number-3 girl there. Not now, not later, not ever. Another downside was that the guy was black. Since it's hard to focus on their faces you wonder if the entire race isn't after you when you piss off one of em. XD

On a lighter note, it was this other girl's(the R girl) birthday yesterday so we did a round of shots to celebrate and it was good but the guy she was with, a friend of mine, decided not to come out to poker. As a matter of fact I didn't see EITHER of them at poker. HMmmm?!

I am spending a good deal of time with Door-Number-3 girl so I hope things mesh out better for us later this week. She was very involved with a project she works on in her spare time so things got a little slow there for a while. I asked her to come out with me on Saturday but she responded "Whr R U?" For some reason I thought someone else had typed the message and asked me "Who R U?" So I got mad and turned the thing off and decided she was perhaps no longer a viable interest. Last night I talked to her again and she seemed normal but not for someone that forgot who I was on purpose, so I asked her about it and she told me and I realized she had asked me "Where are you?"

This is perhaps the single most important reason I am still single.

This is me getting some Limbus action with some friends from the linkshell. I was a great time and rather easy to get through too. The main thing you do is go through and kill a bunch of elementals on each floor and try to get to the bottom. If you are not successful in some and screw up, this has a time limit. If you don't kill very well then you don't earn time extensions and hence you don't make it to the bottom.

We made it to the bottom. The floors are layered by element so each earth floor basically has earth elementals, each ice floor has ice elementals, etc. Not bad if you are good at it. Killing the monsters nets you Ancient Beastcoins which the quartermaster will pass out at the end. Jarom leads this group and does a good job of directing. He seems to know his stuff very well. Faytlynn is the resident uber-BLM who has some great gear.

The price to enter however is 50000 gil so if you don't have that much, then you are stuck and won't be able to go. It's not that bad tho and you can sell your coins rather easily in Batallia Downs. My problem was that I sold all my coins and had just enough to get my new GSD which costed 400k.

The Thief's Knife is going for 300k and you are thinking to yourselves, why didn't I get that instead?! I dunno, I kind of expect the price of the knife to come down to 100k eventually or at least to about 200k. More and more of the gilsellers are gonna be hunting that knife til the demand for it has gone down. I just hope I catch the market at a good time before then or else the price for it will go back up as they stop farming it. There are 14 of those knifes in AH now, lol.

Another bad thing is that I now have 40k and don't expect getting up to the 300k mark soon.

However, I do have close to 80 Beastmen's Seals. It might be time to do some A Worm's Turn BCNM. Oh and my suggestion on KS is to do the Double Draconian. It drops that Minuet Earring which sells well in AH. The ODS(Operation Desert Swarm) we did dropped only the VClaw once in 5 runs and we had to split that so we got 112k each out of six.

This week, door number 3 girl was ready to hit the town so we hit it. Did I hit it? No.

Two dates and still no kiss. I should have taken the hint I guess but she still says yes when I ask her out so do I just keep asking and hope for a light at the end or am I just desperate or acting that way?

Who knows? I guess somewhere in my 20s I should have dated like a 100 women like everyone else.

In the game, life is becoming very stupid to me. I don't feel joy crafting or doing dynamis or even partying with my new weapon for my WAR. I do plan on leveling Alchemy next though it's just that I am out of money now that I bought this cool new GSD.

Anyone a fan of Sword of the Berserk anime movie? It's kind of extreme but if you can handle it it really is a great story of the pursuit for greatness. I guess I am extreme that way. I took my date out to see the movie 300 thinking perhaps it was too violent but there were some scenes in there that were really inspiring.

She didn't appreciate the movie at all. I could tell it bothered her and so we walked out. Luckily I had seen the movie before but it left a sour taste in my mouth like she didn't have a good time. That taste was compounded when I got no kiss goodnight. Bah. I can almost guarantee she wouldn't like to come play the game with me.

I am starting to feel like maybe my charming days are behind me. Do I stick it out with this girl or try again? Oh, the frustration.

The good news is that at least I am dating. Last year I went out hardly at all and just stuck to the game and distracted myself from the realities of life. But now I feel my heart heavy with doubt and wonder about my future.

The worst part is that it totally takes me away from the game. I missed Dynamis last night. I was supposed to have finished 8-3 by now and maybe got my Rajas Ring and was supposed to up my merits in evasion and in elem skill so that my weskit would be useful. I was supposed to have caught up my TAU missions and even maybe got enough points in assault to get my Precise Belt from the Lebros Cavern assault missions. I even wanted to get my WHM to 73+ or my WAR at least to 65 so that I could lot items in Dynamis. But all that is on hold. I feel like I have accomplished not half of what I did last month.

Still, I did have a good time dating. We'll see if I can keep the candle burning for this girl or if Hohito will hit his Flee button again.

Well the fun's over.

Door number 3 girl said that she couldn't go out cuz she was moving. The "date" girl decided to play her psycho nuts card and started telling me she didn't receive text that I show as sent. And I actually hope I don't ever have to speak to that "friends" girl again.

So, oh well, I am out of options.

Last night (or was it last night) I went to hang out with my poker pals and we had enough charisma to get some girls to come over to the house and hang a while. One problem, I am not a leader type like I used to be. Noone broke out any cash, noone sat down and played cards, and everyone was like talking in all different areas of the house without really doin anything productive. The really scary part was that I remember doin shots of Jagermeister and at the last minute the girl we were doin them with switched her drink with mine and that's about the last thing I remember. I woke up the next day at about 1pm on a recliner.

Thankfully though I checked my ass and it wasn't date-raped. It took me all of Monday to recover rom the "shots".

In the game I am expecting to probably have to wait for some hour long update as many people are experiencing zone problems. I didn't have any problems though and one person in Dynamis suggested that using 3rd Party tools was the cause. Who knows.

People have started partying in Nyzul Isle and I have to say it's neat to go out there but if you go with a BRD and an RDM, get ready to pull out your Warp Cudgel or you are gonna be stuck there. The Assault Mission there is pretty fun too and we cleared 3 floors lickety split trying it once. The downside was that it was over too quick. The reason for doing that Assault, from what the leader said, was that after you go up enough levels some rare stuff starts to drop from the NMs there. Nothing dropped for us though and pretty much it was a fun but short excursion for no reward whatsoever.

The Thief's Knife is the hot topic on the game nowadays. It has now become a 100% drop which makes getting it not so impossible. It has also caused some people to try to sell theirs for big gils knowing full well that they can pick up another one for like the same effort as a Moldavite Earring run. The Thief's Knife has always been the most sought after prize because it adds +1 Treasure Hunter ability to a THFs TH2. This and having the Assassin's Armlets makes sed THF a very sought after commodity because having this guy in your Dynamis run for example makes more rare items, like Artifact gear, drop more often. TH4 is the most TH you can have officially although there are rumors that the Millionaire's Desk, the 4-leaf Mandragora Bud, and the Lucky Egg somehow add to the luck pool. Most THFs will say though that that's bulldookey. I have a printout from someone who posted his long arduous journey to camping Sozu Rogberry, the tonberry that drops the Thief's Knife, and I am very tempted to go start on it now just in case SE changes it's mind about the knife after the next update.

One problem, you gotta like to farm to get this sort of thing to work. Moreover, I am going to feel completely stupid if I go out there get the claim and then find out I can't solo him with THF/WHM. Truth is though that I have never pushed the envelope that hard and I know full well that I should bring a couple of stack of Bloody Bolts if I want a chance at beating some Decent Challenge mobs.

Careful what you wish for!

Today I am planning to finally put down the Dynamis Lord for my first time. I even think I might lot on some gear since I have enough points. I am way behind a lot of people though so it's probably pointless but you never know.

I need to get some cooking supplies to bring with me cuz setting up parties for Dynamis is so boring and it always lasts at least 30 minutes if not longer to set up.

I went out to Karaoke last night and had a good time but the crowd was THIN. I know how the owner thinks too and perhaps we are looking at the end of karaoke on this night as well.

The one "date" girl that didn't like me called last night and was all better about seeing me again. Big surprise. Right now though she won't answer the phone but I'm sure that has nothing to do with it being Friday night and having bigger "fish" to fry.

Tomorrow, I am gonna check what's behind door number 3.

I don't like to take out my Flare Spell except for special occassions and this is one time that I felt wow, what a good idea. The Tremor Ram I have killed before with my WHM when he was a much lower level but using my BLM to do it really made the job faster.

Still no love from the ladies.

I have gone out twice this week with two different women. One that wanted to make it clear that she was not looking for anything special and just wanted to be out as friends and then made me wait an hour before she got there. Very impressive. Last night she asked me to buy her shots and play music for her and then after all that we stayed after and played darts just me and her and then she started kissing this other fella and they exchanged numbers.

What PLanet am I on?!!

The night before I was out with this other woman on an official date and we kissed the entire time in the car on the way back from this birthday bash. I was sure she was turned on but when we got back she told me she had a lovely time and said goodnight. This after two weeks of text messaging each other and trying to get together.

I am wondering what my plans tonight should be. Should I call the "friend" that likes to kiss other people, or the "date" that may not even like me?

Well, at least I am getting some action if that's what you would call that.

In the game I am getting more points steadily and am expecting big things from my Dynamis buddies. Even though I don't talk to them much I am becoming more used to them and it is somewhat nice not to have people chatting 24/7 while you are trying to get things done. Plus I hear they are doin different things like Salvage and Limbus too so I might try to join them on some of those excursions in the future.

I am dead set though on finishing the missions and getting my Rajas Ring for my THF. I need to go through mission 8-3 When Angels Fall today and try to get my key item. I probably will get a group together to go kill the pots at the end of the mission and will have to lead them through the tower to do it, so I may as well get some practice in going through there.

I know that perhaps I shall go as THF and I am so tempted to buy some evasion gear but it's SO costly. I used up 100k in leveling my cooking to 30 and now I don't know what to do next since I can't cook sushi which is the only useful thing I would use it for or Melon Juice maybe later.

Oh and that's another thing, in Dynamis I had a bundle of Pineapple Juices left over and I started to use them a lot and because of that the RDM stopped Refreshing me all of the time. What a jip! I guess I need to stop trying to show up people. I still plan on getting cooking to 40 one of these days and using it to cook Melon Juices for Dynamis. Not soon though. I might still use it to gear up with some Roast Pipira though. I still get some DEX out of that and I can use it while farming I suppose.

It was kind of a letdown when I finally got to use guild points and found out how much harder it would be to get the neat items. I might take it up again next week maybe.

Now it's off to Tavnasia to wind my way through those halls in The Garden of Ru'Hmet.
